Obituary

Adan "Adam" Manuel Vigil, a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 27th 2025 and has gone to his eternal rest with our Lord.

Adam was born on May 12, 1948 along with his twin sister Martha Vigil in Las Vegas, NM. For all who knew Adam, he was a kind, generous and loving man. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps and served from 1970 until he was honorably discharged in 1974. He served 2 tours in Viet Nam as a Corporal Reserve 1st Class in the Field Artillery Battery. He was wounded in combat and earned numerous citations including the National Defense Service Medal with One Star, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Achievement Medal, Vietnam Cross Gallantry Palm Ribbon, and Good Conduct Medal. Adam was tremendously proud of his service and veteran status. Even with all the hardships he endured during and after his service, he always said that he would willingly reenlist to serve his country again. Upon his return to Las Vegas, Adam worked in forensics at the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute formerly known as the State Hospital for many years.

Adam is survived by his sisters Martha Vigil and Theresa Trujillo, brother Anthony Vigil, 3 grandsons, nieces Michelle M Trujillo and Angela Trujillo Garcia, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews, cousins and longtime friend Bob Madrid. He is preceded in death by his parents, Adan Vigil and Minnie Mares, grandmother Teresita Mares, son Christopher (1968) and son Christopher (2017), brother-in-law Tony Trujillo Sr. and nephew Tony Trujillo, Jr., nephews Adrian and Gabriel.

Cremation has taken place. Services will be held Immaculate Conception Church, with a Rosary on December 18th at 6PM and Funeral Mass on December 19th at 11 AM with interment immediately after mass at Mt. Calvary.
