It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful and strong mother, grandmother,
and great-grandmother, Adelaida Anaya De Ortega, on March 25th, 2026. Her brave and courageous
spirit, along with her contagious laughter, will forever live in the hearts of those she loved and cared for.
After a long and full life, she is now reunited with her loving parents, whom she longed to be with in her
final years.
Adelaida was born on June 1st, 1944, in Palomas, Chihuahua, Mexico. Alongside her father and
younger siblings, she came to the United States in search of a better future. She became a U.S. citizen
in 1956. At a young age, she made the selfless decision to sacrifice her own opportunity for education
to help her father raise her siblings, ensuring they could pursue their schooling. She will always be
remembered for her sacrificial and giving spirit.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Enrique C. Ortega; her loving parents, Manuel and
Manuela Anaya; her beloved children, Manuel Ortega, Irene Ortega, and Frances Trujillo; her brothers,
Raul, Juan, and Albino Anaya; and her sisters, Eleonor and Rosario Anaya.
She is survived by her daughter, Maria Ortega (Mike), and her son, Joel Ortega (Olga); her
grandchildren, Danielle (Esteven), Angelica (Kenneth), Dejya (Juan Carlos), Pablo Sandoval, Annikah
(David), and Lawrence (Candice); her son-in-law, Jose Trujillo; and her great-grandchildren, Serenity,
Trinity Trujillo, Eluzio, Glory, David, and Noah Vigil, and Dayton and Kenlee Pacheco. She is also
survived by her siblings, Vacilio (Marcila), Louis (Lorina), Paul (Peggy), Cipriano Anaya, Carmen
(Fred), Dominga (Martin), Gloria (Jimmy), and Nellie (Andy).
Our beloved mother and grandmother had the heart of a fighter. From a young age, she worked
tirelessly to create a better life for those she loved. She showed us the true meaning of sacrificial love.
After helping raise her siblings, she went on to raise her own children and later became a licensed
caregiver from 1996 to 2020, caring for and helping raise her grandchildren. She loved them deeply
and was always ready to do whatever was needed for her family. Her life's purpose was centered on
caring, serving, and nurturing those around her.
Adelaida loved attending Our Lady of Sorrows Church, where she grew in her faith and love for Jesus.
She later joined Juan Ortega y El Coro Santo Niño from 2008 to 2015. She enjoyed singing, dancing,
traveling, and most of all, laughing and sharing joy with others. She will be deeply missed and forever
remembered for her unconditional love, strength, and sacrifices.
Though our hearts are grieving, we will cherish her memory and honor the legacy she leaves behind,
knowing she is finally reunited with her loved ones.
