Agapito was a man of many trades he traveled to many places to find work to support and provide for his family from working in the vegetable fields in Portales, NM to building homes in Amarillo, TX. He worked as a general contractor, a cook and also served his community as a volunteer firefighter for many years. He was also a member of the Church of Christ. He was a friend to so many, he always greeted everyone with "Hello Prim" Como estas? To his close family and friends regardless of who it was he welcomed you with open arms a hug and with his favorite saying, "Hello Pep (Pepper)". He had a heart of gold and loved all his children and grandchildren all the same. He was the glue that held everyone together. He enjoyed time spent with his family. In his early days you could often find him in his porch playing his guitar, singing and enjoying his Milwaukee's Best with his can of Prince Albert next to him or simply just listening to his music, most recently watching his Western Movies regardless if he had already seen the same show numerous times, it was like he was watching it for the very first time. He often spent his time at the wood pile splitting wood and constantly adding wood to the stove. In the months leading to his passing, he lost his voice due to the cancer, when asked how he felt his murmured answer was always "Aye vamos, Un Dia a La Vez Pep" he never let his spirit down he remained strong even during the toughest times. Although he lived a simple life for him it was as he would call it, "luxury", he had his family, he had his home he built with his beloved viejita. Where he welcomed everyone that walked in his door with love & generosity. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, hard work, and dedication to his family. On Tuesday July 29th at 12:50 am his golden heart stopped beating, his hardworking hands were put to rest. Although, God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. In Pito's words he'd say only the "Best in the West".
