Albert H. Otero, age 67, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, NM, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 18, 2025.
He was born on October 01, 1957 in Las Vegas, NM to the late Pablo Brigido Gonzales and the late Estella Maria Coriz. He was Catholic and attended Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM.
Albert graduated from West Las Vegas High School and after graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He then came back to Las Vegas and attended LVTI and New Mexico Highlands University. Albert was a bartender at 2G's and at La Cantina. He was also a cook for El Rialto and The Hillcrest for many years. Albert loved to surround himself with family and friends. He loved to dance and entertain. He enjoyed watching his favorite football team the San Francisco 49ers. Albert was a member of the Eagles Lodge and loved playing pool.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son: Pete "boy" Lujan, brothers: Paul B. Gonzales, Raymond Martinez, John and Joe Garcia, sister-in-law: Viola Martinez niece: Miranda Esquibel, nephew John Martinez, and Dolores "dodo" Garcia.
Albert is survived by his sister Pauline Gonzales and brother Henry Gonzales all of Las Vegas, NM; sister, Rosalita "Chavela" Esquibel of Los Montoya's, NM and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Also his best friend Gloria Ulibarri.
Service will be held on Tuesday, May 06, 2025 with the Rosary at 9:30am followed by the Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM. He will be laid to rest at San Jose Cemetery following the Mass with the following serving as urn bearers David Aaron Salas, Brian Gonzales and Elizardro Esquibel. Serving as Honorary Urn Bearers will be all of his remaining nieces and nephews.
