Albert O. Rodriguez, 80, a resident of Las Vegas, NM, has gone to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, January 4, 2019.
He was born to his wonderful parents Onofre and Bersabe Rodriguez on August 21, 1938 in the small town of Llano, NM. Albert attended Menaul High School and graduated with a Bachelor's of Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University.
Albert was a lifelong member of the First United Presbyterian Church. Albert was a proud Marine and believed in helping others by giving back to his community in the many jobs he held. He worked to get funds for the migrant workers, he was a director for the NM Head Start Program, Director of Veterans Services in Las Vegas, NM, the Director of the H.E.L.P. Program and was a Social worker at the New Mexico State Hospital.
Albert was the best Dad that anyone could ask for! He taught his kids so many things. He taught them how to love and respect others, the importance of family, and most importantly to have faith in God. He impacted the lives of so many people! Those who knew him well were truly blessed to have him in their lives.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents: Onofre and Bersabe Rodriguez; younger brother Noberto Rodriguez.
He is survived by his loving partner of 14 years: Stella Pino; daughter: Priscilla Rodriguez-Ramirez (Joaquin); son: Albert Rodriguez Jr. (Teresa); daughter: Bersabe Rodriguez (Daniel); grandchildren: Adam Steward, Amor Nailor, Jimmy Rodriquez (Melissa) and family, Robert Roberts, Jonathon Albert Sipes (Ariana), Tabytha Jarred (Thomas) and family and Madison Torres; mother of his children: Aurora Cordova Rodriguez; nephew that he loved as a son: Rick Vigil (Monica); sisters: Frances Rodriguez and Priscilla Martinez (Larry); nephew: Eric Lopez (Dee Dee) and family; niece: Dolores Gallegos (Billy) and family; niece: Marissa Hedrick (Jonathan).
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 10:30 am at the First United Presbyterian Church in Las Vegas, NM with Pastor Randy Campbell and Pastor Katie Palmer serving as officiants. Interment will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Presbyterian Cemetery in Llano, NM with the following serving as casket bearers: Adam Stewart, Robert Roberts, Albert Sipes, Joaquin Ramirez, Rick Vigil and Eric Lopez. Honorary bearers will be Daniel Torres, Jimmy Cordova and Benji Torres.
