Alejandro "Alex" Mora, 85, a longtime resident of El Alto NM, passed away Tuesday October 24, 2023. He was born on August 19, 1938 to Antonio Mora and Elisa Lucero. He was raised by his grandparents Alejandro and Silviana Mora and special padrino Victorino Olguin.

Alex was best known as a man of many talents while working as a lineman for the Mora- San Miguel Company, mining in Grants, and working the ranch life with horses and cattle. He enjoyed being outdoors cutting wood and sharing his knowledge with anyone that was willing to learn and listen. Whoever knew him, knew he loved telling his jokes and sharing his stories about his life growing up. He knew no stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, grandson Aaron Lucero, special nephew Ernesto Trujillo and brother Willie Mora.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Eleanor "Ida" Mora, daughters, Alice Sena (Joseph), Veronica Mora, and Sandra Lucero (Eric). Adopted son Paul Duran (Jessica). Six grandchildren Alexander Padilla, Amanda Padilla, Jessica Lucero, Carmelita Padilla, Esperanza Sena, and Miquella Sena. Two great-grandchildren Adam and Camila Padilla. Adopted grandchildren Aiden, Ethan, and Jayden Duran, Mary Barragan, and Jesus, Consuelo, and Francisco Valdez. Special nephews Leroy Trujillo (Grace & family), Daniel Catbagan and wife, niece Laurel Ortega. Extended family the Pacheco family (Josephine, Vangie, Leo, and Tito), Flora (Dennis), Margaret (Frank), and sister Rebecca Romero, half-sisters Bertha Cross (Larry), Lita Jaramillo, Angie Mora, and half-brothers Jimmy, Trivino,  Bobby Mora and John Urban
(Cathy). Numerous1 brother-in-law, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 7:00 pm at St. Gertrude Church in Mora, NM. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, November 3, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Gertrude Church in Mora, NM. Interment will follow at Mora Cemetery with the following serving as Pallbearers: Ricky Medina, Carl Medina, Danny Medina, Paul Duran, Eddy Alcon, and Alexander Padilla. Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
