Alfonso
Gallegos
August 2, 1957 – September 26, 2022
Alfonso A. Gallegos was born on August 2, 1957 in El Porvenir, New Mexico
to the late Dolores Gallegos. He went to be with the Lord on September 26, 2022.
He was immersed in the Catholic Community. He attended public schools in Las Vegas, New Mexico and went on to Graduate from Robertson High School where he was a member of the Student Council. Alfonso then went on to college at New Mexico Highlands University where he pursued an education in Early Childhood Development. He then went on to work at Vegas Grande As an attendant to help care for others. Alfonso was blessed with many family and friends in and around the Community of Las Vegas. He never met a stranger, he be-friended everyone with a simple "Hello" and turned into a lifetime of Friendships. His way of celebrating family and friends in his life was by always remembering everyone's birthdays or holidays. He never forgot to send a card or a special gift (religious items or rosaries) to remind everyone he was thinking of you. Alfonso enjoyed making memories and not forgetting them. He was very "old school", he loved and enjoyed taking photos with his Polaroid camera or old Style cameras, going to developing his pictures and mailing them to everyone to remind you how special you were to him. Alfonso developed a very special bond with everyone. He especially enjoyed making up a funny names or nicknames for everyone he knew. He preferred to use his old fashion flip phone. He would call everyone to just say hello, to tell you how he was doing and how his week went. He was not too good on texting, but he sure did try. Alfonso enjoyed going out to eat with his close friends. He enjoyed collecting the local newspapers from Las Vegas and sending them to family out of town so they never missed updates or changes occurring within the community. He was very kind hearted, caring and loved to make people laugh in his own special way. When a family or friend lost a loved one or a loved one was ill, he was the first to walk down to the church and pay for a prayer for the upcoming mass. He loved the people in the community and the people from his church. Alfonso will be dearly missed by everyone that knew him.
