Obituary

Amalia "Molly" Benita Montoya

Beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother.   Molly, passed away suddenly on October 11, 2022 at her home  looking into her husband's eyes at the age 72 due to long term medical issues she suffered.

Molly was born on November 21, 1949, in Santa Ana California, to her mother Dolores "Lola" Ontiveros-Mosqueda and her father Juan Mosqueda.  Molly graduated High School at age 18 and married her soul mate/husband Ben A. Montoya of 54 years.  Molly and Ben started their family shortly after they married   She raised her children Ben A. Montoya Jr. and daughter Jenny Yvette Pacheco, later in years her grandson Alex Pacheco (her Gavilan whom she referred to as a son).  She mothered them  with all her love, time, and admiration, and prayer.  Molly was an amazing mother, the queen of her family. While raising her family, she also pursued careers, first as a cosmetologist/owner of Ben-Her Beauty Salon in Leadville, CO.  She later moved to New Mexico and attended college and became a computer programmer and was employed at the Santa Fe State Capitol.  Molly finished her career with her most passionate profession as a substitute teacher at Mora Independent Schools, where she was well known and loved by the community as "Teacher Molly".  She enjoyed sewing, Motown music, singing Antonio Aguilar songs, dancing, watching her old western flicks, and most of all teaching children throughout the community of Mora. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and was very proud of her children's accomplishments and how she guided them and bestow wisdom upon them.  Molly often reminisced about her past experiences which she enjoyed sharing with her family/friends. She had a good sense of humor, had a giving and loving heart for everyone, and no matter her pain she wore her beautiful smile every day.

Molly is preceded in death by Benita Guzman (grandmother who raised her "Tita"), father Juan Mosqueda, mother Dolores O. Mosqueda, brother Cruz Juan Mosqueda, father in-law Higinio Baca Montoya, mother in-law Elaiza Montoya, and grandson Jeremiah Antonio Licón.
