Annette Lopez

March 13, 1975 — April 17, 2026

Santa Fe

With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Annette Lopez on April 17, 2026, at the age of 51. Born on March 13, 1975, Annette was born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and later built a beautiful life in San Jose, New Mexico with her husband and two daughters. Her beauty, laughter, and generous spirit left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Annette was the beloved wife and best friend of Nelson Lopez. Together they shared 33 years of love and partnership, including 29 years of marriage. Their love story began at the roller rink, where sparks flew the moment, they met. From that day forward, they built a life filled with devotion, dancing, bike rides, travel, friendship, and the successful businesses they owned together, Santa Fe Computer Works and Cartridges Etc.

Annette attended Santa Fe High School, where she was also part of the Vo-Tech program. She was remembered as strikingly beautiful and unforgettable. She later earned her GED and worked throughout her life in many roles, including Office Max, SECU, home healthcare, and eventually as a business owner alongside her husband.

Above all else, Annette was a family woman. She was the kind of person who always had a house full of kids—from babysitting at just 11 years old, to being the fun auntie, to hosting her daughters’ sleepovers, and later filling her home with grandchildren she adored. Popcorn and movie nights, snow cone nights, pizza nights, and special outings were just a few of the many memories she created. Her grandbabies were the center of her world, and she never stopped talking about them or planning ways to make them smile.

She had a deep love for the special needs community and formed beautiful bonds with those closest to her heart, especially her beloved cousin Andrea and granddaughter EvaLee. With endless patience, joy, and tenderness, she danced, sang, played, and celebrated them fully. She never saw limitations—only people worthy of joy, dignity, and love. She lovingly taught EvaLee how to sing “Happy Birthday,” a memory that will be treasured forever. Andrea and Annette were affectionately known as “Dr. Dre” and “Dr. Net,” a reflection of the playful bond they shared.

Annette loved music in every form and had a soundtrack for every moment. Her taste spanned generations and genres—from Patsy Cline to NB Ridaz, Journey to Paula Abdul, Kenny Rogers to Bruno Mars. If music was playing, chances were she was singing along, dancing, or getting everyone around her to join in. She loved fishing with family, bike rides, vacations with Nelson, traveling to conventions, and connecting with people through her LuLaRoe business, where she built many treasured friendships. She was known for saying “Da Mommas,” a phrase that will forever bring smiles to those who knew and loved her.

To know Annette was to laugh. She had a gift for making people smile and making them feel seen. She was one of the sweetest and funniest people many had ever met. If she saw someone in need, she gave freely—often quietly and without recognition. She never met a stranger, only people she had not loved yet.

She was preceded in death by her sister Louise Montoya; brother-in-law Christopher; father-in-law Johnny Lopez; mother-in-law Dolores Lopez; grandparents Vina and Leo Armijo, Fernando Sena, Eva Sena, Juanita Sena, Urbano Martinez, and Bernardina Martinez; along with many other beloved relatives who welcomed her home.

Annette is survived by her loving husband, Nelson Lopez; her children Christopher, Deyanarah, and Sherriann (Johnny); Estrella, whom she embraced and loved as her own; her beloved grandchildren Angelo, Joseph, Ashlynn, Raelynn, Krislynn, Aubrianna, Nico, Zeus, Elijah, Mozaiuz, Zeronikah, Jeriyah, Lileyuh, Treysen, August, Atticus, and EvaLee; Jazzlyn, Genesis, and Eternity-Justice, whom she loved as her own grandchildren; her parents Urbano Martinez and Mary Ann Martinez; her siblings Diane (Richard), Ben, Henrietta, Nathaniel, Leonard, and Kristina; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, and dear friends whose lives were brighter because of her.

Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing Annette’s love lives on in the family she built, the laughter she gave, and the countless lives she touched. She will be missed beyond words and loved beyond measure.
