Annie Aragon 86, longtime resident of Las Vegas, NM, passed away on May 27, 2022.
Annie worked as a dietician at St. Anthony Hospital, also at the NM State Hospital, where she retired after 20 years' employment. She loved to cook and enjoyed going to the casino and spending time with her grandchildren and family.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Irene Valdez, maternal grandmother who raised Annie, Juanita Valdez; husband Candido Aragon; Laverne's father Arsenio Ortiz; sons Alex and Ray Aragon, daughter Frances Aragon-Ortega; brother Antonio Campos, sister Flora Chavarria, uncle Ruben Valdez, and aunt Pita Powell.
She is survived by: her Daughters, Darlene Armijo of Colorado, Laverne Aragon (Julian) of Las Vegas, New Mexico, and the Grandson she raised as a son, John Lujan of Las Vegas; her grandchildren: Devin, Daryl, Arsenio, Jonathan, Monique, Brandy, Michael, Evy, Denica, JP, and Jessica; 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter; Sisters: Juanita Arguey of Las Vegas, Liz Bovidalla (Fernando) of Nevada; and Brothers: Julian Valdez of Arizona, Charlie Alcorta (Anna) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Joey Powell of California; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Devin Hetrick, Julian Mora, Arsenio Mora, John Lujan, JP Hayes, and Victoria Lucero; with honorary pallbearer Daryl Hetrick. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 7:00PM at Our Lady of Sorrows. Funeral Mass is scheduled for Friday, June 3, 2022 at 9:00AM at Our Lady of Sorrows with Father Rob Yaksich as celebrant. Interment immediately follows mass at San Jose Cemetery, Las Vegas, NM.
