Arturo Lujan age 80, of Chacon, NM passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 surrounded by his longtime partner Maryann Duran and granddaughter.

He was born on August 22, 1943 in Cheyenne Wyoming to Federico Lujan and Prudenciana Lucero.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Federico and Prudy.

Arturo is survived by his sons: Arthur Lujan (Ida) of Albuquerque, NM and Freddie Lujan (Paulette) of Las Vegas, NM; grandchildren: Nathanial, Tiffany, Brittney, Roseleen, William, Shyka, Anthony, Alessandra, Shannon, Ryan, Aleeya and Ayla; step children: Elena Duran, Eugene Abeyta, Lucy Abeyta and Sabrina Duran; brother: Charlie; niece: Diane; lifelong partner: Maryann Duran; numerous: friends.

Arturo retired as a school bus driver for Mora Independent Schools. He had two god daughters Lucyann and Alessandra. He enjoyed camping, fishing, being in the mountains and hunting.

Rosary will be recited on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 7:00pm. Funeral mass will be conducted on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 10:00am with Father Paul Grala S.O.L.T as celebrant both services will be held at St. Gertrude Church in Mora, NM.

Pallbearers will be Eugene Abeyta, Alex Duran, Kenneth Rupert, Gerry Trujillo, Patrick Trujillo, Raymond Montoya, Johnny Marrufo and Steven Lueras.

Cremation will take place after services and burial of cremains will be held at a later date.
