Arturo Roybal, age 93, a resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away the evening of August 3, 2025 peacefully surrounded by family in his home.
He was born on February 19, 1932, in El Charro, NM to the late Alfredo Roybal and Patricia Saiz-Roybal.
Arturo was a proud army veteran, a devoted family man, and a pillar of strength and kindness. He served his country with honor and carried that same dedication into every part of his life. He retired from New Mexico Highlands University after 24 years. Together with his wife, he owned and operated a hotel, where he devoted many years to its upkeep and success.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Alfredo and Patricia Roybal: son-in-law: Charlie Silva; grandson; Patrick Roybal; brothers: Herman Roybal and Isaias Roybal; sisters: Marcelina Esquibel, Amelia Garcia and Mary Marquez.
He is survived by his wife: Virginia Roybal; sons: Harvey Roybal and wife Velma Roybal and Jody Roybal and wife Joyce Roybal; daughter: Eva Silva; grandchildren: Jeana Roybal, Melissa Roybal and husband Mauro, Arturo Roybal and wife Candice, Charles Silva and wife Prescilla, Crystal Silva, Breanna Roybal and Noah Roybal; great-grandchildren: Nevaeh Roybal, Vanee Martinez, Alia Roybal, Arturo Roybal, Amor Baca and Santana Baca; sisters: Teresita Chavez and Isabel Gomez; numerous: nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rosary service will be recited on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 1:30pm funeral mass will follow both services will be at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father Jacob Romero as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers: Charles Silva, Arturo Roybal, Noah Roybal, Santana Baca, Frank Roybal, and Johnny Chavez.
