Austin Garza, age 28, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, N.M passed away on February 12, 2026. He was born to Donna Lucero-Valdez and Preston Garza on July  1, 1997.  He is preceded in death by his father Preston Garza, grandparents Jake and Mary Lou Lucero, Grandfather Robert Garza, Uncle Jake "Kiki" Lucero, Uncle Paul Garza, and Cousin James Garza.

He is survived by his parents Donna and Tony Valdez, daughters Mia Pino (Sonya Pino) and Azianna Garza (Adrianna Martinez), brother Justin Garza (Brittney Martinez), Step-brothers Justin and Cristian Valdez, step-sister Marissa Valdez, grandmother Maryanne Garza, Godmother (Nuna)Tammy Couch and Uncle John Couch, Aunt Annette Garza, cousins Jeremy Garcia, Dominica Lucero, Dennis Lucero, Dennica Huerta, Dominic Lucero, Glenn Couch, Cody Couch and special cousin Angel Garza, including countless cousins and friends.

Austin was an amazing father to his beautiful daughters, Mia and Azianna, whom he loved with all of his heart. His girls were the center of his world, and he took great pride in being their dad. His love for them was unconditional, unwavering, and evident to everyone who knew him.

Austin was a friend to everyone. He had a warm spirit and a kind heart that made people feel welcome and valued. Whether you had known him for years or just met him, he had a way of making you feel like family.

He was also a talented cook and baker who took pride in his meals, especially his flan.  He was always quick to help others, Austin never hesitated to lend a hand to anyone in need. His generosity, compassion, and selfless nature left a lasting impression on so many lives.

Austin's memory will live on through his daughters and all who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Funeral Services will be held on February 25 at 1:00 p.m. at Rogers Mortuary.
Burial will take place immediately following at the Garza Family Ranch in Tecolote N.M. Urn bearers will be Justin Garza, Glenn Couch, Cody Couch, Dennis Lucero, Dominic Lucero, Justin Valdez, Cristian Valdez, Arcenio Garcia, and Alex Montoya. Reception to follow at the Tecolote Community Center.
