Barbara Ann Zimmer (née Langer) a resident of Las Dispensas, N.M., died in Santa Fe on November 21, 2024. Barbara was born on July 18, 1934 in Albuquerque, N.M. to Carl O. Langer and Clara L. Langer (née Boberschmidt). She attended St. Vincent Academy from 1940 until graduation in May 1952. She immediately began work as a secretary for Southern Union Gas Company and remained there until her marriage to Raymond E. Zimmer on June 8, 1953 at Our Lady of Fatima church in Albuquerque. The marriage was officiated by the Archbishop of Santa Fe, Edwin Vincent Byrne. Barbara raised six children and was a homemaker and a respected member of both the Alameda and Los Ranchos de Albuquerque communities as well as a devoted member of Holy Ghost, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Therese Catholic churches before moving to Las Dispensas in 1998. From 1995 to 2002 Barbara and her husband owned and managed an art gallery, Rough Rider Trading Company. She was passionate about gardening and landscaping, interior decorating, and raised numerous horses and a multitude of animals. Barbara was an enthusiastic hostess who loved to entertain family and friends. Barbara is survived by husband, Raymond E. Zimmer, sons Mark Zimmer and wife Dela (of Talent, OR) and Karl Zimmer and wife Melody (of Westcliffe , Co.) and daughters Kristina Adkins and husband Robert (of Dripping Springs, TX), Lea Knutson and husband Dave (Las Dispensas, NM), Lisa Lane and husband Cary (Las Dispensas, NM), and Paula Zimmer and husband Peter (Waitara, New Zealand). Her grandchildren are Cory Knutson (Denver, CO), Jamie Knutson (Las Dispensas, NM), Brady Lane (Las Dispensas, NM), Sonya Foutch (Denver, CO), Kalissa Adkins (Borger, TX), Nathan Adkins (Albuquerque, NM) and Cameron Adkins (College Station, TX). Her four great-grandchildren are Rayyah Knutson, Ibrahim Knutson, Jade Adkins and Ariadne Foutch.

On Monday November 25th there will be a viewing from 9 to10am followed by a rosary at 10am and funeral mass at 1030 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Las Vegas, NM. Pallbearers will be Mark Zimmer, Karl Zimmer, Cary Lane, Dave Knutson, Cory Knutson and Jamie Knutson. The Interment will be on Tuesday November 26th, 1;30pm at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Albuquerque, NM.
