Benito G Gonzales, a resident of San Jose NM passed away on May 15th, 2024 after a long extended illness.

He was born on March 25, 1952 to Balbina G Maldonado. Attended OLOS catholic school until the 6th grade.

He attended WLV Jr high and left for the job corps until 1969, at which time he joined the navy from 1969 to 1973 where he served on the air craft carrier USS Oriskany. He loved to hitch hike all over the country. Benito attended Luna Vocational College where he received his GED and a degree for drafting in approximately in the late 70's. He was employed at the New Mexico State Hospital for several years and always held various jobs. Benito was always a very hard worker. He met his wife Vivian and decided to settle down and marry her and spent the rest of his life with her together.  Benito was a wonderful human being, always so happy and helping everyone. He was a wonderful stepfather to his step children and all his nieces and nephews. Especially Linda Rae as he loved as his own.  Benito was a jack of all trades and he would give is shirt off his back for anyone. He is preceded in death by his mother Balbina, brother Pierre Gonzales, sisters Cecilia Romo, Gloria Jean Gallegos and Martiniana R Maldonado. nephews Mathew Brian Gonzales, Manuel David, Joseph Lujan and great niece Ariel Renee Esther Salazar. He is survived by his wife Vivian, step daughters Tamara Marie (Jamie), Tira Randall, Frankie (Michele) and stepson Thomas House. Two Great Grandchildren Dusten and Maddison. Brothers Miguel Lovato (Rose), Joseph Maldonado (Theresa) and David (Yvette). Sisters Geneve A Ulibarri (the late Tony), Diana M Maldonado and Rosario D Maldonado.

Cremation has taken place and services will be held at Rogers Mortuary Chapel in Las Vegas, NM on Friday May 24, 2024 at 10:00 am.

He was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
