Carolina Eva Ramirez, age, 78 a resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.

She was born on August 12, 1944 to Vidal and Anivez Benavidez in Holman, NM.

Attended St. Gertrude Parish School in Holman and graduated from Santa Fe High School. Her employment included Radio Dispatcher and Jailor for Mora County and her many years as a caregiver to others, including working at NMBHI and during her years providing home health care. Carolina received an award from for mental health volunteer work and mental health advocacy after her retirement.

Carolina enjoyed the outdoors and gardening, fishing at Mora River was one of her favorite pastimes in her youth. Carolina was an avid reader and enjoyed anything Christian or self-help based. She also enjoyed crafting and computer gaming. She collected Victorian style dolls and had a love of angels.

Carolina is preceded in death by her parents Vidal and Anivez Benavidez; Second husband: Ernest Sandoval; siblings: Vidal Jr, Margarita, Alfredo, Juan, Remijio, Carolina, Maximinio, Arturo and Gilbert; infant son: Danny Wayne Armijo.

She is survived by her children: Eileen Barr of Las Vegas, NM and Waldo Armijo of Colorado Springs, CO; father of her children: Henry Armijo; grandchildren: Amanda Armijo (Lisa) Rachel Hayes (Thomas) and Cassandra Armijo (Ryan) all of Colorado Springs, CO; great granddaughter: Lucia Hayes of Colorado Springs, CO; special friend and neighbor: John Herrera of Las Vegas, NM; numerous: nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cremation has taken place and funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 10:00am at the Access Church in Mora, NM with Pastor Herman Medina as officiant.

Interment will follow at San Isidro Cemetery in Holman, NM.

Reception will follow.
