Obituary

Caroline Roseann Hooper passed away peacefully at home on November 14th, 2025.

Caroline was born on December 9th, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to Chester and Catherine Tremback. She attended Catholic Schools in Chicago until the age of 14, when she and the family moved west to Albuquerque. She attended and graduated from St. Mary's High School. She was awarded a scholarship to study Anthropology at the University of New Mexico, but soon married and started a family.

Caroline spent the next several years raising her four children. She started working various jobs around this time, eventually working full time as a bank teller for First National Bank both downtown and at the Gibson branch. Caroline met and married her second husband in the mid seventies. They first moved to Portales, New Mexico for a few years, and then relocated to Jacksonville, Florida. During this time Caroline revisited her desire to obtain her college degrees. She studied business and accounting at both ENMU and Jacksonville University, eventually being awarded her MBA. Caroline went on to a career as a tax accountant, and became an Enrolled Agent (EA) with the IRS.

In the late 1990's, Caroline returned to New Mexico to care for her elderly mother. She opened the Tax LIne Accounting Services on North 4th Street in the North Valley. She enjoyed several years of business success and greatly enjoyed running her own business and becoming part of the community again. After retiring, she moved first to Socorro and then on to Green Valley, Arizona for a short time. She returned to New Mexico in 2020 to spend her final years with family in Las Vegas.

She is survived by sons David Chester and John Chester, daughter Jennifer Connor (Terrence) and sister Constance Givens. She was predeceased by her oldest daughter, Leslie Marini. Caroline had many good friends, including special friend Roberta Fernandez. The family would also like to thank the staff at Anvoi Hospice Care for their caring and compassion.

Internment will be at La Puerta Natural Burial Ground as requested by Caroline. A memorial celebration will be held in Las Vegas in the following weeks.
