Obituary

It is with great sorrow look that we announce the passing of Catherine "Cathy" Garduno.

Our dear Lord blessed us with sharing her life for 77 years. Cathy was born in Las Vegas,

NM on September 10, 1948, was welcomed back into His arms on September 26, 2025.

She was born to Adolfo and Rosine Garduno who predecease her, and brothers Gerald Garduno and Lawrence Garduno. She is survived by her brother Wilfred (Geneva) Garduno and her sister Louella (Mac) Rodriguez, who ensured love and care for their sister every day of her life. Cathy is also survived by several other family members.

Cathy was loving, happy, and welcoming to all who reached out to her, whether by visit or phone call. Her thoughtfulness and memory of each family member and friend was amazing. Always asked for each person by name no matter how long it had been since she last saw them. She enjoyed listening to the radio, the Holy Rosary and Spanish music. Watching The Price Is Right was a favorite pastime.

Throughout her life Cathy was blessed with wonderful caregivers who brightened each day by sharing her interests in game shows and music. Taking her out to enjoy parades, to church, shopping and eating at restaurants. Making each day a new adventure. Cathy's caregivers became part of her family, and she was a part of theirs. Renee, Kim, and Imelda, along with Connie and Teresa were some of the ladies who blessed Cathy's life by their everyday love and compassion. When she moved to Albuquerque, she was welcomed by Blanca and Maureen at Life Missions Family Services. They, along with Julianna, Ramona, Ariel, and Alyssa, helped her adjust to a new home by welcoming her with kindness and respect. All these ladies helped Cathy live her best life! Their hard work and value to Cathy's life can never be measured. Cathy and her family are so grateful to all her caregivers for making her life full. During her last months on this earth, Hospice De La Luz helped transition Cathy and all those around her to a peaceful end. All these people who were so present for her could never be thanked enough. The family of Cathy would also like to thank Dillon Rodriguez for all his hard work keeping track of the details that provided Cathy with the best care.

Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Albuquerque on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, with rosary at 10:30 a.m. and mass at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her parents at a later date.
