It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Catherine 'Cathy' Garcia. Our dear lord blessed us with sharing her life for 63 years. Cathy was born on May 3, 1962, and was welcomed back into the Lords arms on November 8, 2025.

Cathy graduated from Mora High School in 1980 and started a family shortly after. Cathy worked at Mora Headstart for numerous years fulfilling her dream of being involved with teaching children. She acquired her associate's degree from Luna Community College in 2005. Cathy took care of her family & friends with all her knowledge of cooking, healthcare, remedies, crafts, and would re-purpose anything she found of value. Cathy loved finding treasures, whether online more recently or at yard sales and thrift shops, and avoided wasting anything making sure everything had a purpose.

Cathy is preceded in death by her daughter, Angelica Faith; her father, Charlie Garcia; her father-in-law, Sam Lovato; and her nephew, Jeremy Valerio.

She is survived by her husband, Antonio Lovato; her children, Krystle (Mike), Gabrielle (James), and Anthony 'Tony'; and her pride and joy granddaughter, Aryah Charleze. She is also survived by her mom Albinita Garcia; her siblings, Wanda, Charles, Diane (Herman), Loretta, Sandra (Manuel), and Erica (Joe); mother-in-law, Iona Arguello; sister-in-laws, Michelle Archuleta (James) and Mindy; godson, Santiago 'Nini' Trujillo; close family friend, Patrick Trujillo (Alicia); along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Cathy will be remembered for her deep love of family, her warm spirit, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her.

Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at 7:00 pm at St. Gertrude Church in Mora, NM. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Gertrude Church as well. Interment will follow at El Carmen Cemetery in Mora, NM.
