Cathy M.
Jaramillo
October 26, 1954 – December 24, 2023
Cathy M. Jaramillo, 69, a lifelong resident of Las Vegas, N. M., passed away on December 24,2023 with her loving daughter Maria by her side. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when I needed her. A loving and dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt, and a genuine friend to many as well as a loved and cherished member of the community. A woman of tremendous strength and kindness, a fierce protector of those she loved. Her familial grace extended far beyond blood relations and was known to many as "Mom". She had a special way of making her loved ones feel safe and at ease. Her home was always open to everyone with open arms.
Cathy was a pillar of strength and resilience, a woman who in your darkest moments would find the light and a solution to every problem. Nothing was too big for her to tackle, and she always provided the comfort, guidance and ease to her friends and family in need. She was a kind, loving and gently woman who loved deeply and passionately. She always taught her children that nothing in life was free and the principals of hard work and determination. She possessed a deep love for her children; her goodness, her caring and her wisdom will live on like a legacy of love that will always be with each of us.
The vigor of her heart was matched by the ferocity of her personality and wit. She was outspoken and unapologetic. She was true to her unwavering faith and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. We can take solace in knowing she will be reunited with her beloved sons Phillip and Joe.
Cathy leaves behind her daughter Maria whom she clothed with strength and dignity and without fear of the future; Estrea Romero whom she considered a granddaughter; Andrea Padilla daughter in law. Others whom she guided and loved dearly and acknowledged as her children God son James A, Giron Jr., God daughter Victoria Giron, Marcos Padilla, Matthew Martinez (Alec & family), Roger Montano, Isaiah Velasquez (Pam & family) and Joe Baca (Amanda & family); her sisters Mary Lou T.
