Charles "Kenny" Kenneth Vigil, 71 passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022 in Santa Fe, NM.
Kenny was full of life and lived every day to the fullest. He was always positive and full of wisdom. Kenny worked on the family ranch starting at a young age, breaking horses, working on various cow camps with Stevie. In high school, Kenny won the 1970 All-around cowboy, riding bareback, saddle broncs and bulls. He had the biggest smile that would light up a room. Kenny was a 2nd generation heavy equipment operator. He operated equipment on some of the largest earth dam projects in North America at the time. Those Kenny stories of him running equipment were amazing. Kenny started working in water management over 20 years ago. His knowledge of water utilities was well respected. He worked for 2 Pueblos, most recently the Santo Domingo Pueblo.
He was born in Springer, NM on July 20, 1951 to Juan Jesus Vigil and Feloniz Archuleta. He is preceded in death by his parents Juan Jesus (JJ) Vigil, Feloniz Archuleta (Vigil), his brothers Alfred Vigil and Steve Vigil.
He is survived by his children Kaylynn Vigil of Pampa, TX; Kody Vigil (Brittni) of Canyon, TX; Kandace Vigil (AJ) of Clovis, NM; his brothers Karl Vigil (Kelly) of White Deer, TX; Mike Vigil of Cimmaron, NM; his sisters Mary Lou Peterson (Jeff) of Fort Collins, CO; Susan Vigil of Colorado Springs, CO; Peggy "Dee Dee" Walton of Santa Fe, NM; Janet Murdoch of Canyon, TX; five grandchildren Kohle Merritt of Clovis, NM; Karter Fahsholtz of Pampa, TX; Abigail, Sawyer and Lillian Vigil of Canyon, TX; numerous: nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rosary will be recited on Friday, December 30, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at Santa Clara Church in Wagon Mound, NM.
Funeral Mass will be conducted on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. at Santa Clara Church in Wagon Mound, NM with Father Christopher Martinez serving as Celebrant. With the following serving as Pallbearers Kason Vigil, Shawn Vigil, Karter Fahsholtz, Kevin Montoya, Matt Vigil and Arthur Jimenez (AJ). Honorary Pallbearers are Kohle Merritt, Sawyer Vigil, and Robert Walton. Cremation to follow mass. Interment will take place at a later date.
