Cifredo "Jack" Jacobo Romero, age 87, left this earth to join the angels in heaven on May 26, 2022. In his last days he was surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 21, 1935, in Madrid, NM to Jacobo Cifredo Romero.
He enjoyed traveling, watching cowboy movies and pro wrestling, frequenting the casino, and playing golf with his sons. He often worked 2 to 3 jobs simultaneously to provide for his young family. His jobs included: assistant chef, loading dock worker, landscape maintenance, hotel maintenance, heavy construction, and cement finisher. After numerous jobs he retired from the Albuquerque Public Schools as their Head Custodian. He was known for the love he had for his family, for never complaining no matter how uncomfortable he was and for his tender affection which left a lasting impression on so many hearts and minds who knew him. Although he will be greatly missed, he is now back with the love of his life, his grandson, and our Lord almighty.
He is preceded in death by his father: Jacobo Cifredo Romero, wife: Mary Baca-Romero, grandson: Jacob Romero, brother: Manuel Romero, sisters: Lala De Herrera and Carmen Lucero .
He is survived by his sons: Mark Romero (Loretta) of Albuquerque, NM; Daniel Romero of Romeoville, NM; Michael Romero (Diane) of Albuquerque, NM; and Manuel Romero (Liz) of California: grandchildren; Mar c Anthony Romero, Aaron Romero (Misty), Christ e n Romero, Dan y elle Romero, Sabrina Romero (Phil), and Travis Kelley, great-grandchildren: Cruz, Braxton, Annabelle, AJ, Alijah, Bryce and Aria, sister; Mary Baca of Albuquerque, NM; brother: Victor Romero of Santa Fe, NM; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rosary service will be conducted on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 1:30pm with the Funeral Mass to follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM with Father Rob Yaksich as Celebrant.
Burial of cremains will be at a later date. Honorary Bearers will be all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
