Clorinda Griego, a lifetime resident of Guadalupita, NM passed away peacefully on May 20, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.  Clorinda was born on December 16, 1936 to Leandro & Aurora Herrera.   She met and fell in love with Paul Griego and were married for 50 years.  Together they had 10 children; Nellie Griego, Pauline Espinoza (Randy), Anthony Griego (Alberta), Lee Griego (Tammie), Michael Griego (Iris), Theresa Vigil (Dante), Shirley Herrera (Michael), Randy Griego (Yvonne), Bridget Griego and Joanne Griego.  She is also survived by her sisters Pearl Garcia, Frances Santistevan, Florence Herrera-Maestas, sister-in-law, Rita Herrera and numerous nephews and nieces.  She had 31 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband Paul Griego, her grandchildren Michael Martinez-Griego, Greg Griego, Baby Angel Griego; great grandchildren baby JaVante Martinez/Doublin and Jason Padilla Jr.; her sisters Nellie Herrera and Arlene Espinoza; her brother Adrian Herrera and godson and nephew Clarence Garcia.

She was proud of all her children and grandchildren and was known by all her grandchildren as "Mi Corazón."  She was a deeply spiritual catholic woman who had a strong relationship with God.  This led her to instill this same faith in her family and to spend lots of time with Jesus through prayer and sacrifice.  Clorinda was also a woman of strong spiritual faith and always found the good in everyone.  She was well known and loved by all her family, friends, and people she just met.  She was very selfless and always put others' needs before her own and in her finals days she lived as a missionary of mercy.

The rosary will be recited on Tuesday, May 28, at 7 p.m. The funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 29 at 10 a.m. Both services will be conducted at St. Gertrude the Great in Mora, NM with Father Paul Grala S.O.L.T as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Camposanto de Guadalupita in Guadalupita, NM with the following Serving as casket bearers; Jason Padilla, Randolph Espinoza, Gabriel Griego, Tony Griego, Leopoldo Herrera and Paul Kubacki-Griego.  Serving as honorary bearers will be Antonio, Francisco, Christopher, Nathan, Keith, Joseph; Alfonso Griego, Gabriel Romero, and Gary Torres.
