Consuelo "Connie" Gallegos 79, passed away on September 25, 2024. Connie was born on September 4, 1945 in La Junta, Colorado to Juan Beltran & Abelina Herrera Beltran.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents Juan and Abelina Beltran, Husband Albert "Rusty" Gallegos, Son Felipe Gallegos. Sister Amelia Beltran Sanchez, brother-in-law Joseph T. Sanchez and sister-in-law Mary Angela Herrera.

Connie is survived by her son Victor Ortiz (Las Vegas), Stepchildren Lisa Gallegos (Las Vegas), Robert Gallegos & wife Mindy (Texas) daughter- in- law Alisha Flick. Sisters, Susie Beltran (Las Vegas), Felicita Beltran (T or C.) & brother Joe I "Chato" Herrera (Las Vegas) Grandchildren Diego Keen (Oregon), Kaymin Flick (Texas) Aiyana & Aydin Gallegos (Santa Fe) & Pierce & Claire (Texas). Special niece and caregiver Catherine Gallegos & nephew Juliancito "Julian" Romero. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews & friends and the many children she taught in head start.

Connie worked as a waitress at The Spic & Span under the ownership of Carmen C de Baca.

Connie started as an aid for the West Las Vegas Head Start where she made her way to teaching, where she retired from after 30 years.

After retirement Connie & Albert worked at Package 77 Liquors until it closed.

Connie enjoyed fishing with her husband & visiting her son Felipe until his death in 2019. She also enjoyed going to the casinos & making & delivering homemade tortillas to her favorite and special people in her life.

Funeral mass will be conducted on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 9:00am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM. Burial of cremains will follow at San Jose Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM.
