Obituary

Damian Lee Ackerman, 48, longtime resident of Las Vegas, NM, and former resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away October 19, 2009 at the UNM Hospital in Albuquerque, NM.
He was born October 31, 1960 in Albuquerque, NM to Frank and Marian Meyer Ackerman.
He was a lifetime Catholic and member of Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, NM.
He was an Internal Revenue Officer for the IRS for 19 years.
He received his B.S. degree at New Mexico Highlands University. While attending New Mexico Highlands University, he was a member of the Upward Bound Program. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan.
Damian was preceded in death by his father; brother Anthony Ackerman; and sister Tamara Ackerman.
He is survived by his mother: Marian Ackerman of Las Vegas, NM; his son: Brian F. Ackerman of Albuquerque, NM; daughters: Alexandria J. Ackerman and Christian Rose Ackerman of Las Cruces, NM, sister: Tanya Ackerman of Las Cruces, NM; nephew and niece: Marco and Cristalina Diosdado of Las Cruces, NM; aunt: Consuelo "Tiny" Chouinard of Albuquerque, NM; uncles and Aunts: Julius (Consuelo) Meyer of Albuquerque, NM and Charles (Eda Mae) Meyer of Phoenix, AZ; aunts: Paula Bogacz of Albuquerque, NM and June Ackerman of Florida; numerous cousins, relatives, and friends.
Rosary services will be held at 7:00pm Friday, October 23, 2009 at the Rogers Chapel in Las Vegas, NM with the funeral services on Saturday, October 24, at Immaculate Conception Church at 12:00 pm with Father C. John Brasher officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM with the following pallbears: Joe Romero, David Gallegos, Carl Armijo, Alfred Lopez, Carlos Meyer, and Carlos Lovato.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Mexico Donor Services in his name.
