Darlene Kay Abel, 81, passed away in her home in Las Vegas, New Mexico on Saturday, August 19, 2023. She was born on December 29, 1941 in Manistique, Michigan to Edward Loyle LaVance and Freda Elizabeth Raskey LaVance. Darlene enjoyed computer graphics, CB radio and target shooting.

She is preceded in death by her parents Edward Loyle and Freda Elizabeth; sister, Helen Elaine LaVance (Milton Eugene Walters); step-daughter, Kandi Kay Abel (Jerrell Wayne Wood) and grandson, Sean Edward Abel.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jesse Emerson Abel, Jr.; son, Mark Edward Abel; step-daughter, Christie Ann Bailey (Hulan Ray Bailey, II); grandchildren, Kristina Marie Bailey (Keith Tedford), Cora Ray Ann Bailey (Christopher Gizzard), Adrian Wayne Abel, Dusty Jesse Abel and one great-grandchild, Micah Adley Gizzard.

Cremation has been scheduled. No services will be taking place.
