Darlene Elaine Romero, age 65 was called to her eternal home on Tuesday June 27, 2023. Darlene was vibrant, life-loving, and a beautiful soul. She had the biggest heart, she loved and took care of her family. She truly was heaven sent, anyone who she knew loved her. She was known as a go getter, a hardworking, independent woman. She enjoyed being with her family, children and grandkids. She loved working at the ranch where she'd spend time with her dogs.

Darlene is preceded in death by her parents Jose and Jesucita Romero and three siblings.

She is survived by her lifelong partner, Ernie Olivas, and their two children Mario and

Carmelita, as well as her nine grandchildren: Carmelita and Zack's children: Britney, Melecio, and Lucio; Mario and Felisha's children: Malaki, Mario Samuel, Marianna, Manuel, Marissa and Mattea; and two great grandchildren, Abel and Lyllah with three great grandchildren on the way. Darlene is also survived by five siblings, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Rosary services will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Mora NM. Funeral mass will be conducted Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Mora NM with Father Paul Grala S.O.L.T. Burial will follow in Turquillo at the family cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers: Mario, Malaki, Mario Samuel, Melecio, Lucio and Damacio. Serving as honorary bearers are: Britney, Marianna, Manuel, Marissa, Mattea, Abel and Lyllah.
