Wilson, Sr.
June 16, 1939 – September 15, 2024
David Reynolds Wilson, Sr. of Las Vegas, New Mexico passed away peacefully at home on September 15. He was 85 years old.
David was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on June 16, 1939. He grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida after his family moved there when he was young. He attended St. Anthony's School followed by Fort Lauderdale High School, graduating in 1957. He also attended the University of Florida. He then joined the Army in 1961 where he served 3 years and was Honorably Discharged. It was during this time he met his future wife, Julia Holleman, of Madeira Beach, Florida. They were married in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1965. David went on to work for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years until his retirement in 1994.
The Wilson's always had plans to return to Las Vegas after retirement to build their dream home, which they proudly accomplished.
David is preceded in death by his parents George Vernon Wilson, Sr. and Lillian Gertrude Groth, both of Las Vegas, New Mexico, as well as his brother, George Vernon Wilson, Jr. of Galisteo, New Mexico.
He is survived by his wife, Julia and his children David Reynolds Wilson, Jr. of Margate, Florida and Jennifer Leigh Livingston of Bloomington, Indiana, as well as his grandchildren Jacob Charles Wilson of Margate, Florida, David James Livingston of Hendersonville, Tennessee and Emily Reese Livingston of Indianapolis, Indiana.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 9:00 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
