Obituary

Dianna passed away surrounded by her family on October 30, 2024. She was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico, on November 19, 1956, to Levi and Alice Alcon. Dianna was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was known for her strong faith in God and was a dedicated member of the Las Vegas Church of Christ. Dianna was also a respected, hard-working community member. She represented District 5 on the Luna Community College Board, and also previously served as the board's vice chair all after retiring as the ACCESS Center Director.

Dianna is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Rolando Medrano Sr. They were blessed with three sons: Rolando Jr., Sean (Leticia), and Jayvis (Brianna). She was the proud grandmother of Santianna, Santiago, Tatiana, Solis, Arayah, Milena, and Jayvis "Mateo" Jr., and the great-grandmother of Kinsley Montoya. She is also survived by her siblings and their families: Idine Michalski (Nick), Eddy Alcon (Janette), JoAnn Ortiz (Tommy), and Levi Alcon Jr. (Yvette). Dianna was preceded in death by her parents, Levi and Alice Alcon, and her nephew, Justin Alcon.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, November 9,2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Las Vegas Church of Christ, Las Vegas, NM. Burial will follow at the Justin Alcon Family Cemetery at La Cruz Ranch, located south of Mora on Highway 518 mile marker 25 (Eddy's Place) with the following serving as Pallbearers; Santianna Medrano, Tatiana Medrano, Solis Medrano, Santiago Medrano, Eddie Alcon, Levi Alcon Jr., JoAnn Ortiz and Paul Collins. Honorary Pallbearers will include Idine Michalski, Arayah Romero, Milena Medrano, Jayvis Medrano Jr., and Kinsley Montoya.

In lieu of flowers, the family will have a scholarship fund in Dianna's memory at Luna Community College. Donations for the scholarship can be made to Rolando Medrano or one of his sons. Checks can be sent to 925 Mills Ave LVNM 87701.

Dianna will be remembered for her unwavering faith, boundless love for her family, and dedication to her community. Her strength and leadership touched countless lives, leaving a lasting legacy of inspiration. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
