Donalynn Schroetke of Rociada, New Mexico passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 after a hard-fought battle against cancer. Dona was born in Los Angeles, CA on December 11, 1952, the daughter of Donald and Carol Rice. Dona married Michael Schroetke on November 18, 1989 and they resided in California for three years before moving to Texas. They spent 27 years in Texas before retiring to Rociada, New Mexico.

Dona loved the Lord and was not afraid to share her faith with anyone she encountered. Even when she was in the hospital, she'd ask each nurse that walked into her room if they knew Jesus. She was a member of Calvary Chapel in Las Vegas, NM and formed many friendships during her time there. In her younger years, Dona got her pilots license and enjoyed flying. She attended two years of college before receiving her commercial real estate license and she enjoyed practicing real estate for several years. Dona loved animals and the outdoors and would often be found gardening, hiking, building things, or caring for or riding her horses. She was an avid horsewoman and bought her first horse at age twelve. Dona was an artist and enjoyed painting pictures of landscapes and animals, and an easel with a canvas she was working on would often be found sitting in a corner of her dining room.

Dona is survived by her loving husband Michael, sons Jason Durham (Patricia) and Nathan Durham, stepdaughter Dani Olson (Eric), sisters Robbin Maddox and Cynthia Beam, grandchildren, Kayla Durham, Jordan Beall (Dalton), and Ava, Lane and Elise Olson, great grandchildren Asher, Blair and Max Beall.

Dona is preceded in death by her parents Donald and Carol Rice.

A celebration of Dona's life will be he held at Calvary Chapel, 2310 7th Street, Las Vegas, NM on Saturday, December 6th at 11:00 am with a pre-service reception beginning at 10:15 am.
