Donato F. Sena, 74 passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023 in Las Vegas, NM.

He was born on October 4, 1949 in Las Vegas, NM to the late Joe and Emma Sena.

Donato was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He served in the Navy for 4 years and worked in law enforcement for 46 years. He retired from the City of Las Vegas as Police Chief and New Mexico Highlands University as Police Chief earning the title "Chief Sena". Donato's dedication to his country and community was unwavering.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Joe and Emma Sena; brothers: Leroy Sena and Cecilio Sena.

Donato is survived by his loving wife: Maria Luisa Sena; daughters: Laura Sena (Joe) and Nicole Sandoval (James); grandchildren: Amerette Jeffrey (Roger), Kelvin Jeffrey, Kevin Jeffrey (Marivelle) and Cesar Hernandez (Lily); great grandchildren: David, Christopher, Mathew, Jeremiah, Elias, Javin, Maliyah and Lylah; brothers: Nick "Sonny" Sena (Cathy) and Robert "Butch" Sena; sisters: Marcella Cannone, Anna Martinez and Josephine "Chepa" Sena (Tony); numerous: nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 7:00pm. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 9:00am both services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM with Father Rob Yaksich as celebrant.

Donato will be laid to rest with honors surrounded by people who loved him.

Interment will follow at Santo Nino Cemetery in Lower Rociada with the following serving as pallbearers Roger Valdez, Cesar Hernandez, Christopher Gutierrez, John Anthony Ortiz, Joe Romero and Kevin Jeffrey. Honorary pallbearers will be James Sandoval, Pam Sandoval, Clarence Romero, Juan Montano, Theo Chavez and Loyd Jeffrey.
