Our Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Sister Donna J. Tafoya was called home on June 21, 2025. She was born on April 4, 1948, to the late Joe and Marian Tafoya. Throughout her life she worked as a bilingual teacher aide, a caretaker, and a homemaker. She loved taking care of others and will be remembered for her generosity and kindness.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Joe and Marian Tafoya, brothers: Bobby Tafoya, Richard (Tiger) Tafoya, and Daniel Tafoya, and nephews: Abraham Tafoya, Charlie Tapia, and Carlos Tafoya.

She is survived by her former husband Raul Fernandez of California, Daughters: Dolores Valencia, Nancy Fernandez (Eric), and Christine Fernandez of Las Vegas, Siblings: Jose Tafoya of Tennessee, Placido Tafoya of Las Vegas, Raymond Tafoya (Corinna) of Las Vegas, Johnny Tafoya (Beatrice) of Las Vegas, Lawrence Tafoya (Breena) of Mora, Theresita Tafoya of Colorado, Marian Tafoya (Charles) of Las Vegas, and Rebecca Tafoya of Rociada. Grandchildren: Dezaree and Aleah Valencia, Tommy Jeffrey (Janaya), JD and Christopher Flores (Cierra), and Great Grandchildren: Elena Valencia and Baby (Daniel), Izabela Navarro, Marilynn, Joseph Jr., Gabriella and JessiJane Flores, Anthony Valdez, Avery, Emery, Emberly, and Tommy Jeffrey. Beloved Bonus grandchildren: Martin and Marcus Tapia, Mario and Dismas Tapia, Renee Montano (Matt), Bayleigh and Jaedyn Borrego, Chase Flores (Feliziana), and Janice Garcia. She had several beloved nieces and nephews also. Pallbearers: Dezaree Valencia and Christopher Flores, Honorary Pallbearer: JD Flores.

Services will be held on July 10, 2025 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church at 9:00 am with Father Rob Yaksich as celebrant. Burial of cremains will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM.

Arrangements are entrusted to and under the care of Rogers Mortuary 600 Reynolds Ave Las Vegas, NM.
