Dulcinea "Nea"
Padilla
October 12, 1929 – December 9, 2024
Dulcinea "Nea" Padilla passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024, and is now our most beautiful angel in heaven. She died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 12, 1929 to Nazario and Estefanita Padilla.
Nea married the love of her life, Frank A. Padilla on April 1, 1946, upon his return from WWII, in Normandy France, together they had fifteen children. They made their home in Los Vallecitos, above the beautiful Mora Valley where their first three children were born; they later settled in La Cordillera where they lived the rest of their lives. All her children attended Mora Schools. Nea was always busy, caring for and making clothes for her children and then her grandchildren.
She courageously held up the fort while dad was away working at the CFI Steel Mill in Pueblo, CO. She enjoyed working on her beautiful flowers, sewing, raising pigs and chickens, doing home repairs, making pies, bread and tortillas. One way mama socialized was doing home perms for the women in her neighborhood, she mostly just enjoyed the company.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Nazario and Estefanita Padilla; husband: Frank; sisters: Ida Medina and Corina Padilla- Ruiz (not only her sister but her best friend); favorite uncle: Melaquias Padilla; sons: Frank, George, Ronnie, Wayne and one infant son who died at birth.
Nea is survived by her daughters: Cecilia Montoya (Orlando), Elizabeth Trujillo (Faustin), Mary Jane Bueno (Tom), Theresa Padilla (Carlos), Judy Buck (Gene), Noyola Padilla- Archibeque (Archie), Joyce Padilla, Sheila Leger (Eliseo Herrera); sons: Joe Padilla, Andy Padilla (Paula), John Padilla and step son Ray Branch (Sofie who recently passed); numerous: grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; also the following who remained very close to her, Mary Sanchez, Felix Archuleta (Sophia), Patsy Molina, Vickie Lujan, Erlinda Fernandez and Leroy Aragon.
