It is with great sadness that we share with you the passing of Edward "Eddie" Baca. Eddie was born on May 3, 1942, in Trujillo, NM and passed away on March 9, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Eddie grew up in Shoemaker, graduated from Las Vegas High School. He was a teacher's aide, rancher, businessman, wild land firefighter, meat cutter, and facilities maintenance person. Eddie loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, golfing, and visiting with friends at the casino. He was a hard worker and wanted things done right.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents Margarito Baca and Eloida Sandoval Baca and his sister Theresa Berger.
He is survived by his wife Fedelina De La O Baca and his three sons, Dennis (Lupita), Gerald (Darlene) and Joseph (Vicki) along with his beloved grandchildren: Erika Seguirant (Devin Seguirant), Adam Baca, Tarren (Dennis) Park, Gerad Baca, Kristal Baca (Luis), Nicole Baca, David Baca, great grandchildren: Gage Seguirant and Kiera Seguirant, Avery Fuller, Payton Fuller and Payton Park, along with his sister in-law Margie De La O and brother in-law Flavio De La O, nephews: Gilbert De La O, Flavio De La O Jr, Angelo De La O, Jim De La O, nieces: Janet Suazo and Annette Lucero (Dennis) along with many extended relatives and friends.
Eddie was well known and beloved by many in the community. He brought a ray of light wherever he went and to whomever he encountered.
Mass of the resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, NM followed immediately by internment at St. Anthony Cemetery.
