Edward James Fernandez, age, 73 a longtime resident of Mineral Hill passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022 in Albuquerque, NM.

He was born on October 7, 1948 to James and Louise Fernandez in Cheyenne Wyoming.

Edward served in the U.S. Navy at Honorably discharged October 1, 1971. He was a member of the Lions Club, he was an Auto Mechanic for over 30 years restoring old cars and he loved living in the country.

He is preceded in death by his father: James Fernandez; brother: John Fernandez; sister: Linda Fernandez.

Edward is survived by his mother: Louise Fernandez of Mineral Hill; son: Edward Fernandez of Albuquerque, NM; brothers: George Fernandez (Barbara) of Los Vigiles, NM and Victor Fernandez (Valerie) of Florida; sister: Barbara Martinez of Las Vegas, NM; brothers: Clifford Duran (Amy) of Edgewood, NM and Ray Duran (Christina) of Rio Rancho, NM; close nephew: Joel Duran of Mineral Hill; numerous: nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM with Father Rob Yaksich as celebrant.

Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM at 2:00pm with the following serving as Pallbearers Adam Martinez, Sam Martinez, Joel Duran, Clifford Duran, Ray Duran and James Fernandez.
