Eleanora "Nora" Sandoval, 78, of Las Dispensas, NM, was called to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 30, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on July 20, 1946, to Jose and Maria Casilda Sandoval, Eleanora was raised by her grandparents, Albino "Bee" and Teresita "Tere" Roybal. She was deeply influenced by their love and guidance throughout her life.
Eleanora was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Maria Sandoval; her grandparents, Albino and Teresita Roybal; and her siblings: Gilberto, Joe, Albino, and Frank Sandoval, along with sisters Natividad Martinez and Dolores Rubio.
She is survived by her only son, Martin Sandoval, and his wife, Connie, of Bosque Farms, NM; two granddaughters, Marisela and Isabela Sandoval; as well as brothers Victor Sandoval and wife Alicia of LeDoux, NM; Ernesto Sandoval and wife Dorothy of La Tewa, NM; and Edward Sandoval of La Tewa, NM. Her sisters, Jane Sandoval of La Tewa, NM; Vicky and husband Adolfo Roybal of Las Vegas, NM; and Christina Montoya of La Tewa, NM also mourn her passing, along with numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.
A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, beginning at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Las Vegas, NM. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Sapello, NM. The funeral service will be live streamed at www.oloslasvegas.org or Facebook page Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
Eleanora will be remembered for her love of life's simple joys—her family, friends, animals, and the beauty of nature. She had a deep connection to her beloved ranch in "El Puertecito," NM, where she found peace and fulfillment.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that pine trees be planted in the Las Dispensas Hermits Peak/Calf Canyon fire burn scar as a tribute to her love for the land.
