Elfirio Romero, 79, of Mosca, Colo., and formerly of Holman, N.M., passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, in Colorado Springs.

He was born January 12, 1946 in Rawlins, Wyoming to the late Elfirio Romero and Reynalda Campos.

After moving to Holman, NM in 1964 with his parents and sister, Elfirio then graduated from high school in Mosca, Colo., and went to earn his bachelor's degree from Adams State College. Before returning to Mosca to farm and ranch with his father, Elfirio taught and coached high school in Kansas City, KS.

Elfirio is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister, Betty Romero, and brother-in-law Gilbert Sandoval of Manuelitas, N.M.; niece Amy Dahl and husband Dan; nephew Ted Sandoval and wife Louann; great-nephew Brandon Sandoval; great-niece Jordan Dahl, all of Albuquerque; and numerous other relatives and friends.

A Rosary service will be held April, 9, 2025 at 9am followed by a funeral mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father Rob Yaksich as celebrant. Interment will follow at Chacon Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers Gilbert Sandoval, Ted Sandoval, Dan Dahl, Brandon Sandoval, Louis Martin, and Bob McKinley.
