Elvira Maria Aragon, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend to all, and servant to our Lord God, was called home on Friday, Oct. 29 in Albuquerque. She was 90.
She was born on July 1, 1931 to Federico and Clarita Romero in Trujillo, N.M.
Elvira dedicated herself to the care of her family upon the untimely deaths of her mother and later her husband. She treated everyone with love and respect and was loved by all who met her. She served and glorified God and taught four generations to do the same. She will be missed terribly and celebrated always.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arquilino Aragon, son Lalito Aragon, her parents, sister Victoriana Romero, brother-in-law Eloy Salazar and godmother Lupe Roybal.
Elvira is survived by her children: Benny Aragon and wife, Irveta, of Farmington, Viola Aragon of Las Vegas, N.M. Francisco Aragon and wife, Yvonne Gonzales, of Albuquerque, and George Aragon and wife, Allison, of Albuquerque.
Other survivors include:
Grandchildren Arquilino Aragon and wife, Larilinda, Theresa LeBlanc, Raul Aragon, Jacqueline Griego and Eugene Gonzales, Venancio Aragon, Alexzandra Cole, Ivana Aragon, Victoria Tye and Gabrielle Tye.
Great-Grandchildren Autiaunna Aragon, Alana LeBlanc, Shayla Aragon, Ayden Gonzales, Mikelle LeBlanc, Elijah Maestas, Onesimo Aragon, Emiliana Aragon, Enzo Maestas and Jordan Gonzales.
Sisters Margarita Romero and Aurelia Salazar and her children MaryAnn Lucero and husband, Richard, and their daughter, Micaela; goddaughter, Yolanda Salazar; Lorraine Bustos and husband, Joseph; Elizabeth Salazar; Anthony Salazar and wife, Soraya, and their son Antonio; and Martin Salazar. Special nieces, Molly Garcia and Dolores Aragon. Special cousin, Joann Martinez. She is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.
A private Rosary will be recited. A public Funeral Mass and burial will be held at a later date, at Immaculate Conception Church with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant.
