Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eustacio N. Arguello. On June 23, 2023. Who was known to many as (Junior) (J.R.) or (Canunto).

He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother uncle, and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his parents Eustacio and Virginia Arguello, his siblings Rick, Connie, Donald, Frank, Lawrence, niece Gail Martinez and brother-in-law Gilbert Martinez.

Junior was born January 14, 1945, in Las Vegas, NM where he lived most of his life. Junior is survived by former wife Becky Rodriguez, three daughters Debbie Arguello (James), Patricia Montoya (Mike) and Veronica Arguello (referred to him as his HITAS!) His cherished and loved grandsons Jimmy Lanford and Israel Montoya, granddaughters Latasha Lanford, Khara Montoya, Jaylenea Lanford, Sisters Molly Baca (Louie) and Helen Martinez. Junior also had great grandkids, nephews, nieces.

Junior worked at the meat packing plant Circle C in Colorado for several years and became very skillful in sharpening knives and then returned to Las Vegas New Mexico and continued working at the Langboard MDF Plant.

Junior had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh by always telling jokes and laughing right along with them. Junior had a big heart when his mother Virginia became ill with breast cancer, Junior took the opportunity to care for his beloved mother.

Junior loved to call and talk to his daughters every day on the phone before going to the senior citizens center and would talk for hours. Junior loved to drive around town with his precious dog blackie in his van playing music. He loved to sing and dance with his friends at the senior citizen center and looked forward to their company every day.

Junior always sought out opportunities to get seconds on his meal at the senior citizen center. Junior made an agreement with the cooks to sharpen their kitchen knives for seconds on his meal. His daughters thought he was just proud to show people how skilled he was in sharping knives.

Junior really appreciated his brother Lawrence Arguello and brother-in-law Louie Baca so much for maintaining his property while he recovered in Colorado.

No words can express how much he is going to be missed. He will forever have a place in our hearts, we love you very much. Gone too soon but never forgotten.

Debbie, Patricia, and Veronica would like to thank all family members and friends that have reached out and offered help to us in this time of sorrow; surely our father would have been very grateful. Thank you ALL for your LOVE.
