Filigonio Vigil passed away at the age of 92, at his residence in Las Vegas, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents Bernabe and Clorinda Vigil. In laws Pete and Isabel Alire. Son Eric L Vigil, daughter Vanessa Vigil, sister Gloria Marquez, brother Bernabe Vigil Jr, brother-in-law Albert Alire, and his loving granddaughter Nevaeh Vigil.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years Georgina Alire y Vigil. Son Adolfo Vigil (Mary), son Filio Vigil (Dorothy), siblings Albinita Garcia (Charlie), Margarito Vigil (Louise), Joan Martinez (Willie), brother-in-law Carlos Maquez. Grandchildren Filigonio Vigil, David and Sonia Vigil (Elijah, Leah, Ashley, Micah), Rachel and Jerry Martinez (JJ, Isaiah, Dominic and Issac), Rochelle Baca (Gabriella), step grandson Martin Montoya (Nicole) and two great-great grandchildren, along with numerous in-laws and friends Filigonio will be remembered as a loving and devoted family man whose presence brought warmth and meaning to the lives of those around him. His career in teaching spanned over 48 years. During this time, he received nominations such as the “Who’s who Among Americas Teachers.” Filigonio’s greatest legacy is the love he shared with his family. The memories he created, the lessons he taught and the lives he touched. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of hospice for the care, comfort and support they provided Filigonio during his final days.

A Rosary will take place on Thursday, August 20th, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Parish Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, August 21st, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Parish Burial will take place on Monday, August 24th, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
