Flora Beatrice Gomez

It is with great sorrow we announce that our beloved Flora Beatrice Gomez has gone home to be with our lord.

Flora is preceded in death by her husband Salomon Gomez, her sons Paul and Fernando, her parents Pablo and Margarita Montoya, her paternal grandparents Cipriano and Celestina Montoya, her maternal grandparents Alejandro and Aurelia Lovato, and her siblings: Lilly, Valentine, Eloisa, Armando, and Jose Ignacio.

Flora Beatrice was born on November 22, 1936, and passed peacefully at her home on December 11, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.

Flora is survived by her children: Mario, Peter (Lesley), Amy (Conrad), Margaret, Claudine, and Stefanie; Her grandchildren: Molly, Michelle, Adam (Angela), Salomon, Lucas (Maria), Vanessa, Dominick (Maria), Garrett (Kaelin), Raymond (Lisa), Ezekiel, Amanda (John), and Daniella; Her great grandchildren: Rome, Alana, Elijah, Armando, Johnni Rae, Charlotte, Cruz, John Paul, Bethany, Mariah, Ariella, Midas, and numerous nieces and nephews; Her siblings Donilia, Chonita, and Alex. Survived by her daughter-in-law Anne Gomez

Flora is remembered warmly as being a kind, loving, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved to sing and dance, as she loved music. She loved nature and the wonder of Gods beautiful creations. She was very compassionate, empathetic, and understanding. She was strong and hardworking. She loved to serve the lord and was a devout Catholic. She will be remembered and missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Rosary service will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at 6:00pm funeral mass will be on Monday, December 16, 2024 at 2:00pm both services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, NM with Father Agustin Henderson as celebrant. Interment will follow at Los Montoya's Cemetery in Los Montoya's NM with the following serving as pallbearers Dominick Chavez, Garrett Chavez, Lucas Gomez, Adam Gomez, Ezequiel Martinez and Salomon Gomez. Honorary pallbearers Raymond Griego and John Gomez. Reception will be held in Los Montoya's following the burial.

The family would like to thank First Care of New Mexico caregivers, Diane, Garcia, Renee Baca, Amanda Carrillo and Conrad Chavez for their loving care of our mother; Bosque Hospice staff Janell Leyba RN, Kaitlin Baker CNA, and Elaida Muñiz; Also a heartfelt thank you to Pablo Montoya for making the casket for his beloved aunt and the beautiful interior done by Bersabe Baca and lastly Roger's Mortuary.
