Flora Salazar, age 95, a longtime resident of Ocate, New Mexico passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at her home.

She was a catholic and member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

She and her husband Ferdinando were foster parents for 25 years in Denver Colorado. Flora received the Sertoma Award in 1985 in Denver Colorado. She loved to read, garden, crochet and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Flora is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ferdinando Salazar, son, Joseph L. Salazar, grandson, Ryland Salazar and brother, Leroy Branchal.

She is survived by her children, Charles L. Salazar, Daniel F. Salazar both of Ocate, NM, Kenneth J. Salazar of Tampa Bay, FL and Martin A. Salazar (Andrea) of Colorado Springs, CO, grandchildren, Ferdinando, Charity, Grace, Daniel Jr., Kade, Lane, Kean, Brandon and Liam, great grandchildren, Anthony, Antonio, Michael and James, great great granddaughter, Elllie, brothers and sisters, Reynaldo Branchal Jr. of Taos, NM, John Branchal of Rio Rancho, NM, Isabel Branchal of Taos, NM, Terri Rivas (Thomas) of Chama, NM and Nick Branchal (Bonnie) of Taos, NM, sister-in-law’s, Lucy Branchal of Taos, NM and Lucille Trujillo, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Rosary will be recited on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 5:00pm funeral mass will be conducted on Monday, June 8, 2026 at 10:00am both services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Ocate, NM. Interment will follow at Ocate Cemetery in Ocate, NM with the following serving as pallbearers Jody Armijo, Pete Fernandez, James Fernandez, Josh Canderlaria, Geraldo Trujillo and Jessie Peralta .
