Frances Sisneros – Sunset: Monday, September 25, 2023

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Frances Sisneros. She passed away peacefully on Monday, September 25, 2023 in Ribera, NM surrounded by family and friends. She was 93 years young. Frances was the mother of Yvonne (Bonnie) Cortez, beloved mother-in-law of Jerry Cortez and loving grandmother to Jennifer Cortez. She truly loved her family. Frances was born in Mora, NM and after marrying Euvaldo (Eddie) Sisneros they moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1951. She worked at Safeway Stores' main office in Oakland, CA in the Engineering Department for 28 years.

Upon her retirement in 1988 Frances and Ed spent their summers in Las Vegas, NM. They were active members of the Las Vegas Senior Community where everyone knew them as the "Dancing Couple". Frances and Ed were voted King and Queen for the Fourth of July festivities for six years and enjoyed riding in the parades. When there was music at the Historic Plaza Park people could see them dancing by the pavilion and enjoying the music. Their outfits were always color coordinated and Frances would wear her many items of jewelry that she loved. She especially loved it when their nephew, Daniel Lee Gallegos and his band, Sangre Joven played at the park so they could dance.

A few years after Euvaldo (Eddie's) passing, Frances went to the New Year's Parade in Pasadena and on a Caribbean Cruise with her daughter, son-in-law and her niece Elizabeth Roberts and thoroughly enjoyed herself. Sweet memories.

Frances will be fondly remembered as having a high energy personality who loved and valued her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne (Bonnie) Cortez, Son-in-law, Jerry Cortez and granddaughter, Jennifer Cortez.

She is also survived by her sisters Ida Williams of Questa, NM, Lucille Padilla of Albuquerque, NM and Brother Leo Archuleta. She will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews including Elizabeth Roberts of Questa, NM and Molly Gonzales of Ribera, NM along with family and friends in New Mexico.

Family and friends are invited to pray the rosary at Rogers Mortuary Chapel at 4:00 pm on Sunday, October 15th. 600 Reynolds Ave.

The memorial mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church at 11:00 am on Monday, October 16th. – 811 6th Street, Las Vegas, NM

Burial of cremains will follow at Mt Calvary Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM.
