Francisco Peter Martinez (Osito) who was a lifelong resident of Gallinas passed away April 7, 2023 after a lifelong courageous battle with type 1 Diabetes.  He was born on October 15, 1976 to Luis and Adelina Martinez.

He was preceded in death by his parents Luis and Adelina Martinez, grandparents Domitilo and Josefita Martinez, and Pedro and Lucy Archuleta. Brother-in-Law Jerry Valdez. Aunt's Antonia Armijo, Theresa Trujillo, Priscilla Sanchez and Margie Gallegos.  Uncles Leo and Lalo Archuleta, Richard Garcia, Celestino Ortiz, Manuel Lesperance, and Gonzalo Armijo. Special friends Gonzalo Varela and Anselmo Duran.

He is survived by his brothers Charles, Kenny and Paul Martinez of Gallinas, His sisters Debbie of Watrous, Patricia (Ramon) of Las Vegas, Kathy (Danny) of Gallinas and Veronica of San Diego CA. Nieces Michelle Varela, Alyssa (Travis) Sena, Dora Trevizo, Andrea and Santana Valdez,  Nephew Jake Cordova (Samantha).  Grand nephews and nieces  Andres Gonzales , Hunter Cordova, Jeremy Lords, Javie Valdez, Addie  Sena, Ava Trevizo and Jaklynn  Cordova.

He is survived by Aunts Stella Garcia, Priscilla Archuleta, Mattie Hall, Grace Martinez (Pete) and Bernadette Apodaca (Leo). Uncles Herman Martinez , Ignacio Archuleta, Jerry Trujillo and Louie Lesperance (Lila).

He is also survived by special friends who were his family Andre Chene (Theresa) Armando Judaro (Diane), Carlos Andre (Maria Ellena), Isabelle Hunkins, Ruben Lucero, Carlos Ortiz, Carlos Chip Ortiz Jr., Edmundo Ulibarri Jr. and Fabian Dominguez.  He is also survived by many more special cousins, friends and neighbors.

Rosary Services will be held Friday April 21, 2023 at 6:30 pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas.  Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday April 22, 2023 at 10:00 am also at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Burial will follow at the Santo Nino Cemetery in Gallinas.

Osito chose his closest friends to be a part of his services. Urn Bearer is Ruben Lucero; pallbearers are Carlos (Chip) Ortiz Jr., Edmundo Ulibarri Jr., Johnathon Martinez and Fabian Dominguez. Honorary pallbearers will be his nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Special Thanks to Maggie Rivera his nurse from Anvoi Hospice, all the nurses and staff at Fresenius Kidney Care and the nurses at St Vincent's hospital who took care of him and became his family.
