Frank A. Berged Jr., born on November 30, 1943, in Las Vegas, NM, passed away peacefully in his home on September 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Frank's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and service, woven together by his commitment to his family.

A graduate of IC School in 1962, Frank proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967. Upon his return, he began a fulfilling career with the NMDOT, where he worked diligently from 1966 until his retirement in 1994 as a Project Manager. Retirement did not slow Frank down; instead, he continued working by driving a school bus at both East and West school districts and NMHU and LCC. During the summer months, Frank enjoyed his time transporting firefighters to wildland fires throughout the country.

Frank enjoyed attending all his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. He was known for his witty and humorous nature, bringing smiles and laughter to all who knew him. He loved spending time with his very close friends, Alice and Eddie Gallegos and Gerald and Dorothy Lujan. He found joy in the great outdoors, relishing in camping and hunting adventures that created cherished memories.

Frank was the cherished son of Frank Sr. and Lucy Berged, who preceded him in death, as did his beloved wife, Gia Berged, his beloved son Frank A. Berged III, and his sister Joann. Frank and Gia celebrated 49 beautiful years of marriage, having wed on June 1, 1968, in Las Vegas, NM. Together, they nurtured a family filled with love, raising their children Frank the III, Roland (Veronica), Franchesca Berged Jenkins (Kenneth), and Brianna Berged. Frank's legacy continues through his six treasured grandchildren: Dante (Ashley), Jazmyne, Jayden, and Devynne Jenkins, and Emiliano and Kayla Berged, each of whom brought immense joy to his life. Frank is also survived by his special niece and nephew Henrietta and Leo Griego, whom also enjoyed spending time, which included taking him on rides and attending sporting events. Frank was also survived by several nieces, nephews and godchildren.

Cremation has taken place and A rosary will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at 07:00PM. Funeral services to celebrate Frank's life will be held on October 1, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church, located at 811 Sixth St, Las Vegas, NM. Following services, interment will take place at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM at 2:45PM.

Frank's life was a testament to love, laughter, and unwavering dedication. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friend
