Gabriel R. Valdez, age 48, raised in Springer, New Mexico and recently from Las Vegas, New Mexico, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at his residence.
He was born on June 16, 1964 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Jose Abe Valdez and Priscilla Maria Trujillo-Valdez.
Gabriel enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. A Catholic and attended the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas ,NM.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Jose Abe Valdez and Priscilla Maria Valdez.
He is survived by his daughter: Amanda Valdez and husband Eugene Armijo of Wagon Mound, NM; sons: Anthony Valdez and Girlfriend Jene Christianson of Wagon Mound, NM; Gabriel Valdez and Jonathon Valdez all of Las Vegas, NM; daughter: Alexandra Montaño of Las Vegas, NM; brothers: Albert Valdez and wife Angie of Garden City, Kansas; Juan Valdez and wife Gloria of Moriarty, NM; sisters; Connie Solano and husband Albert of Bernal, NM; and Rita Gallegos and husband Edward of Sulphur, Oklahoma; brothers: Edward Valdez and wife Lorraine; and Ben Valdez and wife Esther all of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren: Anikaua, Eugene Armijo Jr., both of Wagon Mound, NM; Raeliannah Valdez and Xavier Rivera both of Las Vegas, NM ; and one unborn grandchild; special nephews: Ambrose and Christopher Valdez both of Las Vegas, NM; numerous: nieces and nephews.
Rosary devotional services will be held on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 9:00 am with the funeral mass to follow after rosary services at the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, NM. Cremation has taken place and interment will be held at Springer Cemetery in Springer, NM with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant. Serving as honorary bearers will be the following: Anthony Valdez, Gabriel Valdez, Eugene Armijo, Ambrose Valdez, Christopher Valdez, Eric Solano, and Samuel Valdez.
