In Loving Memory of George Flores October 17, 1954 – June 6, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Flores, a beloved father, grandfather, friend, and pillar of his community, who left this world on June 6, 2025, at the age of 70.
Born on October 17, 1954, George lived a life defined by love, laughter, and service to others. He was a man full of life — someone whose energy was contagious and whose heart was always open. George had a deep passion for his work at West Las Vegas Schools, where he found joy and purpose each day. His presence there wasn't just professional; it was personal. He touched the lives of students, staff, and families alike, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication.
George was the kind of man who could make anyone laugh, even on the hardest days. His sense of humor was unmatched — quick-witted, warm, and always just what you needed. But even more memorable than his laughter was his heart. He gave freely of his time, his wisdom, and his love.
George was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Ignacio (Nash) Flores and Aurora (Dora) Flores, birth mother Margie Pena, sisters Patsy Vigil and Jessica Salas, Brother Ellery Pena, his parents George Flores Sr. and Margarita Lara Flores, and stepfather Salomon Archuleta. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Diane Flores, whose memory he cherished every day.
George is survived by his sister Petra Ulibarri, his children: Diego Flores (Desirae), Monica Flores, Sarah Flores, and Greg Garduno, and his nine grandchildren: Diego Flores Jr., Feliz Flores, Sarita Crespin, Lynnette Crespin, Maria Andrews, GeorgeAnne Andrews, Michael Makepeace, Isaiah Flores, and Wileeke Woodson; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; and special angels Juan Rubio and Eric Buell — each of whom carry forward pieces of his spirit, strength, and warmth. George's family and friends will gather to celebrate his remarkable life, to honor the love he gave so freely, and to share the stories that will keep his memory alive for generations to come. His was a life well-lived — and more than that, a life well-loved. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
