Guida A. Perea

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mom and grandma. Guida gained her angel wings on February 6, 2023.  She was born to Fred Scott and Wilma Carpenter on March 11, 1943, in Albuquerque, NM.

Guida is preceded in death by both of her parents, Fred and Wilma; her brother Danny Scott, sister Carol Halverson and brother Wally Scott; also her husband Gilbert E. Perea and daughter Paulina Perea.

She is survived by her loving family including her sisters Judy Nelson (Bud) and Glenda Wootton and all of their families; all of her children, Victor Perea (Maryann), Sandra Vigil, Susan Lopez (Joe), Pamela Campos (Julio), Patricia Erceg (Jeff), Carol Perea Ortega, Gill Perea-Martinez (Cayetano), Gilbert Perea Jr. (Laura), special grandchildren Amanda Perea, Michael Martinez, Eduardo Martinez, and Evan Martinez along with the rest of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchild; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, many friends and extended family.

Guida lived most of her life in Las Vegas, NM; however she did get to travel the world with her older daughters to include Germany and the Netherlands, where three of the girls were born. She welcomed everyone with open arms and always set and extra place at the table for guests (just in case); always putting others before herself.

She loved music, trivia, history, reading , puzzles of all kinds, playing cards with family, laughing and making others laugh. She was a wealth of knowledge in many subjects. Guida always said that her children were her greatest joy in life.

Guida is loved deeply and will be tremendously missed by many.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rogers Mortuary Chapel. Interment will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery where she will be placed to rest with her husband, on Friday, March 10, 2023 at 2:30 p.m.
