Obituary

Jesse Baca a caring, loving, amazing, devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully at his home following a heroic battle with cancer on August 22, 2024. Jesse was born (a twin) on October 23, 1954 in El Empedrado (just outside of Las Vegas), New Mexico to Eligio Sr. and Helen Baca.

Jesse graduated from Pueblo County High School in 1973. Jesse was an avid mechanic throughout his life, his work ethic was vast and his early career consisted of working at Dana Corporation in Pueblo, Colorado, moved to Utah and eventually retired from Utah State University. Jesse was known for his constant smile (showing off those dimples) that lit up the room, his grit and most of all his compassion for all living creatures especially his pups, Timmy and Smokey. Jesse would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need as he didn't know the meaning of "no" and would never ask for or expect anything in return. Jesse loved the outdoors, enjoyed traveling in his truck and trailer, and his 4-wheeler. Jesse was a devoted Denver Broncos and Utah Jazz fan and enjoyed watching the game with his son. Jesse was a loyal, kind, gentle but yet tough man, he was loved by so many and will be missed by all.

Jesse was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bernardina and Antonio Pacheco; his paternal grandparents, Melecia and Anacleto Baca; his adoring parents, Helen and Eligio Baca Sr.; beloved twin sister Darleen Martinez; brothers Joe Baca and Roger Baca; grandson Eddie Valdez, Jr.; mother of his children, Theresa Vigil; grandfather of his children, John Ramirez, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
