JoAnn Castellano, age 81 passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 16, 2025. JoAnn was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on January 26, 1944.
JoAnn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was the matriarch of a large family, she was a loving wife, who cared for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. JoAnn had a deep devotion to our Lord. She enjoyed gardening, and going to the casino, and supporting her great grandchildren at their sporting events.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents Eugenio and Isabel Martinez. Her father and mother -in-law Ernest and Marie Castellano, her brother Eddie Herrera, sister Flora Aragon, brother in-laws Esequiel (Zeke) Martinez and George Cantrell.
JoAnn is survived by her loving husband and partner of 56 years of the family home Rudy Castellano. Her three daughters, Mary Ann Yee (Stephen), Elizabeth Castellano, Annamarie Castellano (John). Her six grandchildren Sheila Gonzales (Justin), Eric Yee (Andrea), Shannel Castellano-Montoya (Raymond), Sarah Bonney (Roy), Dylan Yee and Ryan Castellano. Her 15 great grandchildren Kaitlin, Kaidin, Kaileb Gonzales. Mateo, Marissa, Isaac Montoya. Sean, Kendra, Levi Bonney. Rosalinda, Jasmine, Kayla, Stevie, Skylar, Lily Yee. Her sisters Odilia Cantrell, Bernice Martinez, her brothers Richard Martinez (Nancy), Danny Martinez (Patsy), and her special niece Norma Martinez. Her in-laws Theresa Hutchinson (Bill), Ernest Castellano (Linda), Charlie Castellano (Bev), Tina Anaya (Louie), Anthony Castellano (Doreen), Andrew Castellano (Lisa). As well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Rosary will be held on Saturday March 22, 2025 at 9:30am with a mass to follow at Our of Sorrow Church with Father Rob Yaksich as celebrant located 403 Valencia St, Las Vegas, NM. Interment will be follow at St. Anthony cemetery with the following serving as Pallbearers her grandsons and great grandsons: Dylan Yee, Ryan Castellano, Mateo Montoya, Sean Bonney, Kaidin Gonzales, Isaac Montoya, Kaileb Gonzales and Levi Bonney.
